A lionfish, the species of venomous marine fish in the genera Pterois, Parapterois, Brachypterois, Ebosia or Dendrochirus, of the family Scorpaenidae was captured by a scuba diver last Thursday off Anna Maria Island, giving a bad sign to marine biologists that the non-native species could establish itself.

The lionfish is a greedy predator that not only eat fish half of their size including grouper and snapper but also adult fish as their routine food.

If the lionfish reproduces in the area, imagine the potential chaos it could cause as it could easily endanger the symbiotic relationships among other marine species.

Some people never realize what has gotten them into the adventure of scuba diving; they live for the danger, the excitement, and the pure adrenaline rush that can only come of it. Maybe the first thought of it came to you by some person who once had had the greatest time of their lives diving in Maui, or even in the great Alaskan waters. All you know is that you can never imagine your life any different, if you never heard of scuba diving!.

You’re all excited about scuba diving now; you’ve heard so much of it; but now you have to find the right place to go and get trained and certified. But don’t be overwhelmed by this; it happens to a lot of people. Going online, and doing research that way, is your best option. Though, if you know lots of divers; they may be able to get you in touch with thier instructors. Someone is always willing to help.

Scuba diving is like learning to fly; there are schools that will help you in the right way; and there will be the schools that will merely be a waste of your time. Each place has a different curriculum, and a different set of tools for you. Some of the instructors are experienced; while others are not. Again, it just takes time for you to find the right ones. But all in all, its worthwhile. And I’m sure you’ll be anxious to get out there and explore all the wonders that scuba diving has to offer.

Anyone can learn to scuba dive; you just have to have determination and will power, and of course, a clean bill of health. Diving can be traumatic to your body; which is why there are schools to help you train. The type of diving equipment you use is crucial to the dive, for it keeps you safe, and makes the dive more and more comfortable to you. But what its worth, you’ll come through just fine, and you’ll have the best experience of your life.

The recent BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico has not only affects the marine life but also the recreational Scuba diving. According to the Executive Director of Diving Equipment and Marketing Association, Tom Ingram, the catastrophe has directly affected the whole recreational diving industry.

The damage to aquatic resources and also perception that all diving and fishing spots has been affected due to the disaster. However, the perception is not completely correct as majority of the coastal waters in Florida Gulf are clear and opened for any kind of watersports activities.

The EPA has authorized the use of some dispersing agent and continue to monitor BP’s use of it and at the same time measures if there’s any negative impacts on the environment compared to the benefits. Divers are advised to check with local authorities who are monitoring the oil spill issues to ensure they pose no threat to divers.

Underwater photography is a very exciting adventure. It has been very popular for a really long time now; and it will never be a profession that goes away. For people everywhere are interested in the wonders of the deep. All over the underwater cameras are changing and being developed to make the pictures crystal clear. This makes scuba diving all the more exciting! Even more exciting than scuba diving already is. With the advancement of the cameras, it just makes it another change for the world of scuba diving.

Through the advantages of photography while scuba diving; we can learn all about the fish and other living creatures that live there. It is so thrilling that with all that technology we can learn so much! Thanks to all those people that take the time to train and get certified the most awesome of professions. You can start as a novice, until you become more comfortable with diving on your own. And then make it into a very rewarding career.

Of course, you’ll always need the right equipment; which if you need help, there are lots of experts you can get help from. And always make sure that you are diving certified. And make sure that you are familiar with the laws and regulations of the state that you are diving in. Always make sure that you have the most fun possible in underwater photography! That is something that has always fascinated me!

Imagine what we can discover with all the data that’s collected from those pictures? What if you found an old sunken ship? Or a lost city? And all the beautiful creatures that live there. So many advantages have come from underwater photography; even if it isn’t your type of career; at least for recreational purposes; its definitely worthwhile. Good luck with your photography!

Did you realize that tens of thousands of people enjoy swimming with those creatures that kill us if they merely smell blood? Could you imagine doing something like that? Well, if you’re an avid scuba diver; it seems like the most exciting adventure of them all! Shark diving is fast becoming one of the most exciting and popular types of diving within the diving world!!! All around the world, divers are becoming more and more brave; even if its just inside a protected cage, or even more bravely in the open water. The most popular shark diving places are in South Africa, Mexico, and even California.

The most eco tourist diving place is South Africa; and widely known for being the best spot for viewing the Great White Shark. As it is the most feared of all the sharks. There are thousands of places where you can go and dive with this most dangerous defender of the deep; but always within the safety of a steel barrier; and of course, with other trained divers.

Instructors take you to areas where they will ‘bait’ the great whites to your area, so that you can get as close a view as possible. There are many sharks that will come to this area, because of the ‘bait’. You will not leave the dive unhappy or unsatisfied; but always remember; there is always a trained dive instructor with you. Close encounters with the great sharks are always guaranteed; for the instructor drops the steel cage and brings out a seal lure; so that you can get an even CLOSER look at these magnificent creatures. Most dives are between twenty and forty minutes in length. And as always, these dives are for people that meet the health requirements and have the certificate to dive.

Did you ever want to see Maui in a different way? Try doing it scuba diving. I guarantee you it’ll be one of the most fantastic experiences of your entire life. Always make sure that you have your scuba diving certification before you dive!

Maui has many many places to offer scuba divers; even if you’ve never gone scuba diving before! Its definitely a place worth checking out. They offer the guided tours; or just rent the gear and take a quick lesson from one of the many trained instructors.

Maui has different trips to choose from. There are places that offer Scuba trips to different locations around Maui, which allow you to stay overnight, or for a few days if that’s what you’d be interested in. You can go diving with several other divers, in a group, or just go solo. They offer a exceptionally equipped dive boat, that is quite comfortable, while you make your way to the destination of your choice. Some boats even offer a restroom on board.

The crew members are quite knowledgeable as well as the dive instructors; they are more than eager to help you no matter what level you are on. The dives are budget friendly so that you can make sure that you’re going to get the most out from your diving experience. They also offer packages, in case you’d like to go with your whole family; which is what I’ve seen most scuba divers do.

Another exciting part of diving in Maui is seeing all the caves and caverns. The dive instructors take you on outstanding adventures to show you all the wonders of the island of Maui. Most of these places, people have never even heard of, unless through one of Maui’s exciting Scuba diving trips.
