What Sports Are You Up To?

Scuba diving is just one of my favourite pastime. Others include ham radio, mountain biking, rock climbing, paintball and practical shooting. But most of my friends has soccer as their hobby, and it appears as if the soccer is an ultimate hobby for them – which sometimes make me wondering what is so cool about soccer? (I don’t really like soccer, as I am not a good player! LOL).English Premier League

And interestingly, they are not just love to play soccer (or also known as football) during their spare time, but they also watch famous football leagues such as EPL or English Premier League – the most watched league in the world of soccer. I would say they never missed a single match, although the time difference may require them to wake up as early as 2am to watch the live telecast.

And if that may have sounds crazy, imagine the collection of merchandises filled in their room. From posters, jerseys, magazines, mugs and badge buttons – they have almost any memorabilia of their favourite team. On top of that, they’re also actively participate in Sports Betting, just to prove their enthusiasm in soccer.

Their favourite teams include Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool. And if you have never heard of these teams, then probably you’ve just came out from a jungle after staying away from the civilization for decades. These premium teams worth hundreds of millions if not billions. And this multi-millions industry has really changed the players’ life, from zero to hero. Just imagine a single player transfer may cost up to few hundred millions dollar.

All in all, albeit not really a big fan of soccer, I really admire the ‘craziness’ that this sports has created to billions of fans worldwide. It has somehow unites the mankind and you can easily observe this during the World Cup.
